Ballet Boots training

Here you'll find a short training manual how to stand and walk in Ballet-Boots with a lowered risk of severe injuries. In online videos, walking in Ballet-Boots might seem quite easy and there is little information on the internet about the risks of untrained feet in those boots. You may be very exited about your new boots, or even tried walking in them already. But for your health I ask you to read this manual and follow its instructions.

What are Ballet-Boots and how do they work?

Here you can see how your foot looks like in Ballet-Boots. As you can see, your big toe carries most of your bodyweight, a burden for which it was not built for. The whole position is most likely to be painful at the beginning.

Please please please: train your feet and balance before you wear the Boots and start standing and walking in them. Without training, these experiments are very risky. You can really hurt yourself and even get long term damages. I made a little comic to show you what I mean:

But you can do something to prevent your feet from long-term damages. If you train your feet muscles they will stabilize your feet and help you to stand more balanced. Some sources only recommend stretching. You may even find interesting tools to help your feet to bend quite extremely
Here are some exercises to train your foot muscles BEFORE you start walking in the shoes.

Those exercised originated in the ballet dancing. A dancer needs about 2 years of training before starting toe dance to give the muscles time to prepare for the requirements. You may not train as long as this, but do them as continuous as long as possible. You’ll see: those three exercises won’t take long to fit into your weekly routines, but are a huge benefit for your feet’s safety.

Exercise 1 + 2

Get yourself a chair as a help and try out this exercise. Move slowly and controlled. After about 30 repetitions (or as many as you’re able to do) try it the other way around: Start with the position of the last picture and work yourself up to the first one.

Exercise 3:
When you lay down and just bend your feet, it will train and help you also. But be sure to make the right "bend", as shown in the next Picture.

After you’re able to do this without any problem, you can raise the difficulty of this exercise with a Massage-Ball. Press against the ball as shown in the next picture:

If you are able to accomplish the task shown above without any pain, you can finally go to the next level: Wearing your ballet boots! Start wearing them laying or sitting. Do you feel comfortable with the Boots? Then extent the time you wear the shoes. If you get cramps (which happens more often than one would expect) take the shoes off and train and bent the muscles some more. If you feel comfortable, you can even be in Bondage with them, similar to a Hogtie, or just keep the shoes on for longer time periods. Your feet will get used to the shoes and you, too. Do this again and again for always a bit longer. If you don't have any cramps after long time wearing them like this, you may go to the next level :-). If not, please just go on and train your feet before you get hurt.

Then you can try to keep standing. You should help you out with holding on something. Here is an example:

It is really painfull at the begining mostly. But you can work against this. For exmaple, use socks to help you out in the boot, or you could buy yourself some ballet silicon protector like shown on the right side of the Picture. I will make a review in futur about mine.

When your save, just try to hold balance without the help.

Ballet Boots training

After your really able to stand easily in your Boots, try to improve your balance with them for walking. It’s helpful to have a person next to you, guiding you a bit and securing you if you tend to fall.

Don’t worry, if you fall down just stand up. It is possible :-) If you don’t have a helping hand near you, here are two ways how to hold and climb up on your own:
